The Hyundai Mitja Marat\u00f3 Barcelona by Brooks will return in 2027, consolidated as the fastest half marathon course in the world. Its flat, performance-oriented route makes Barcelona the ideal setting for runners looking to achieve a personal best and compete at the highest level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here, the goal is clear: to go for the best possible time. But the Mitja is much more than speed. It is an experience that combines sporting excellence with celebration, positioning itself as one of the most festive half marathons on the international calendar. More than 25 entertainment points, music, DJs, and thousands of people filling the streets turn every kilometer into a shared space between athletes and the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And after the finish line, the experience continues. One month after the Mitja, the city will once again transform to host the 42K with the Zurich Marat\u00f3 de Barcelona, which will celebrate its 48th edition in 2027 following a historic year that has placed it among the world\u2019s major marathons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2026 edition confirmed the potential of the Barcelona course, ranking the race as the third fastest marathon in history, only behind Chicago and Berlin, based on combined men\u2019s and women\u2019s results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This positioning reinforces Barcelona as a benchmark course for performance, both for elite athletes and for amateur runners seeking their best result over 42K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, a city fully committed to the event contributes 47 entertainment points and thousands of spectators supporting every kilometer, generating a unique atmosphere in which effort turns into shared emotion. In 2026, the race brought together 32,000 runners, with 63% international participation, consolidating its global projection and ongoing growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
