Article 1 – Notifications
Race day: Sunday, February 14, 2027.
The start time is 8:30 a.m.
Notifications: All communications to the runner will be made through the email provided by the participant at the time of registration or registration, or in the email subsequently modified through the procedure enabled by the Organization for this purpose, in the event that they have decided to modify it. Therefore, once the communication has been made by the Organization, it is the responsibility of the runner to check their email to be aware of it.
Likewise, the athletes expressly undertake to follow the instructions and restrictions imposed on them in accordance with the health management of the event.
Article 2 – Regulations
The distance is 21,097 kilometers totally urban. It is certified by the Spanish Athletics Federation and through an authorized commissioner of the World Athletics.Similarly, the half marathon is under the World Athletics road race regulations and distinguished with the Gold Label by the World Athletics. The judges of the RFEA and the FCA will ensure compliance with the regulations.
All people who have a bib, federated or not, can participate, as long as they are 18 years old on the day of the test. Minors will not be able to participate, not even in strollers or other assisted transport devices (skates, bikes, skateboards, handbikes…)The organization reserves the right to close registrations if the maximum dimensions of the race are reached to guarantee the proper functioning of the race so that participants have a quality experience and the greatest possible safety for all.
Article 3 – Start
The start will be at 08:30 hours and the race will end at 13:05 hours, with the official maximum time to finish the race being 2h45:00 from the time the last participant leaves the starting line. In no case may this time period be exceeded, leaving participants who do not comply with this limit out of the race and from the official classifications.
Blind athletes will start from the start they wish according to the time marked in their registration. The decision to make starts does not affect in any case the complete and correct timing of all athletes, regardless of the start in which they start. The organization reserves the right to make more outings, among others, for security, organization and/or logistical reasons. In this case, those affected will be notified with sufficient time for the correct organisation and preparation of the test.
Article 4 – Times
The only data that the organization will take into account when making the classifications of any category will be those that the runner himself provides in his registration form. The organization has reserved a Sub-Elite box for participants who request it and accredit the following Marks: 30:00 in 10k, 1h05:00 in half marathon, or 2h20:00 in marathon in the last two years (men) and sub 35:30, 1h15:30 or 2h35:00 (same conditions for women), and provided that they have been carried out in events of the official World Athletics calendar in approved circuits. There will be no personal provisioning or payment of expenses or fees to sub-elite athletes. To do this, they must send an email to: info@mitjabarcelona.es attaching your mark made in an official test within the framework of the last year.
Article 5 – Starting Corrals
Every runner accepts the responsibility and commitment to accept their starting round at the time of registration. Therefore, the athlete accepts that the starting box selected at the time of registration will be the one that corresponds to him. The participant will be able to modify their Starting box before January 12, 2027 by entering the management of your registration:The start is structured in boxes. Each box is identified with a color and only those who have the number of the distinctive color of said box will be able to access them.
Article 6 – Registration
Pricing
There will be a quota of 36,000 bibs availablePrices will be:Bib 1 to 1,000: €36 Dorsal 1,000 to 10,000: €40
Bibs 10,001 to 36,000: €50
The registration will only be valid once the payment has been made.
Registrations will close when 36,000 registrants are reached or on February 7, 2027.
Registration for people with disabilities
Two categories of sports with disabilities are established: visual impairment and intellectual disability.
People with visual disabilities: register online before 12/09/2026. These will appear in the box they indicate when registering. If you want to change the box, you must access your registration and make the change before 12/01/2027. To qualify for the classification and award for visual impairment, it is necessary to attach a copy of the card accrediting the disability to promocioesportiva2@bcn.catThe guides will go without a chip and must be duly identified, registering through info@mitjabarelona.es, so that they can provide you with a code to make the registration. They must indicate the name of the participant who will be the guide.
People with intellectual disabilities: register online. These will appear in the box they indicate when registering. To qualify for the classification and award of intellectual disability, it is necessary to attach a copy of the card accrediting the disability to promocioesportiva2@bcn.cat*The awards ceremony for these categories will be held as long as a minimum of 3 athletes have finished. The prizes will be awarded on the same day of the race. You have to go to the podium area once the race is over to know the first, second and third position.
Article 7 – Transfer of Entry
The participant who wishes to do so may change their name or holder of the bib/chip through our registration platform in the Manage your Registration section:
If you are not going to run, you can give your bib and place in the race to another runner. The new runner will have to comply with all the provisions of these regulations, by accepting the bib he will be accepting the content of the bib in its entirety. You must enter Manage your registration, Change of Owner, and indicate the details of the person to whom you transfer your registration. The new participant will send an e-mail with the instructions to register. Once you have made/paid your registration, you will receive a refund of the price paid in your registration minus €14.95 for the management of the change of holder. Your refund will be approved if the new runner executes their registration. Once you have made the payment, the refund of your registration will be processed excluding the expenses already mentioned. If said refund is due to an error beyond the organization’s control, the refund will be made by bank transfer with a charge of €10 for this management.
Changes of starter made after 12/01 will not have the personalised number.
The Organization reserves the right to make changes to the methodology of the change.
Any attempt at direct transfer or sale between participants without following the established process may result in the invalidation of the original holder’s participation, and the organization reserves the right to exclude them from future editions of the event.
Unauthorized bib transfer
For legal and sporting reasons, but above all for safety, the bib may not be transferred to another runner without following the process provided for it and without obtaining the agreement of the Organization. In the event that the Organization becomes aware of this circumstance prior to the event, the bib number that is the object of unauthorized sale or transfer will be disabled, so it will not be able to participate in the event. In addition, and given the risk run by those people who wear a bib without knowledge of the organization and the distortion that occurs in the classifications, the data of the person who receives, gives or sells will be noted, preventing their registration in the following 4 years, and informing other marathon organizations of their procedure. half marathons and 10K.
Article 8 – Infractions and Disqualifications
Runners who are not registered or run without a bib or with an unofficial bib of this edition of the race will not be admitted by the Organization, preventing them from having access to the race in defense of the rights of those registered by regulations. [Nor to be elite athletes or athletes with World Athletics Label status who register as popular runners are admitted. The participationof all elite athletes or athletes with World Athletics Label status will have to be expressly admitted by the Organization.]
Likewise, access to unauthorized vehicles will not be allowed, for the safety of the runners. The Judges of the Test and the Organization reserve the power to disqualify the offender who, after any irregularity has been proven by a runner. The following shall be grounds for disqualification:
- Providing false personal data when registering (name, surname, age, etc.).
- Not completing the entire route.
- Being overtaken by the closing vehicles of the race.
- Not passing through the checkpoints located on the circuit.
- Not wearing the bib number clearly visible on the chest or altering or hiding the advertising of the same.
- Running with the bib and/or chip awarded to another runner.
- Not following the instructions of the judges and/or staff of the Organization.
- Having given up the bib to photocopy and be used by another rider.
- Refusing to pass the doping control.
- Having unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Any other punishable behavior that is included in the competent federative regulations.
Disqualified riders will not have the option for prizes and trophies.
Given the serious damage that this would cause to the Organization and to the other runners of the race, in the event of accessing the race in violation of the established access conditions or any irregularity is committed, the Organization reserves the right to take the appropriate measures, in accordance with the applicable legislation. In this sense, the corresponding civil, criminal or administrative actions will be initiated to demand the responsibility of the offender.
Among the irregularities that will lead to the initiation of these actions, are (i) not being registered in the race and, therefore, not having a bib/chip to participate in the test; (ii) running with the bib/chip of a third party (without having made the change of ownership or wearing it hidden); (iii) running with a bib/chip that does not correspond to the race number; (iv) running with a counterfeit bib/chip (photocopied or bib-mimicking document). This list is made by way of example and not limitation, and there may be other irregularities that give rise to the initiation of legal actions by the Organization.
Both those who commit such irregularities and those who collaborate with them so that they can carry them out, will be identified as “offending corridors”.
Those runners who are identified as “offending runners” by the Organization on the day of the race, will be separated, identified and expelled by the security personnel of the race, in the exercise of their powers, obtaining identification data from them; photographs, etc., which will be used in order to take the corresponding legal actions.
In the event that the infringement becomes known after the evidence has been held, the appropriate actions will be initiated at the time when the infringement is known.
The “offending brokers” will receive notifications and/or summons of the proceedings in which their possible responsibilities will be judged, so that they can be part of them.
The organization reserves the right to prevent registration in the future and to inform other races of the behavior of those athletes disqualified for not having fully completed the 21,097.5 kilometers of the route.
Article 9 – Refund Guarantee
If you have taken out the Money Back Guarantee at the time of registration, you can request a refund of 100% of the amount, excluding the insurance fee, until February 18, 2027 at 6:00 p.m. (Spanish time) for any reason. The management fees will not be refunded. The Money Back Guarantee can only be contracted at the time of registration, and cannot be added later.
Article 10 – Bib Pickup
The bibs and chips will be delivered only and exclusively in person at the Expo Sports, Friday and Saturday before the race.
No bibs will be given on the day of the race.
The runner may authorize a third party to collect the runner’s bib and bag. You must bring your receipt with the bib number and your ID (digital serve). Bibs will not be given to those who do not meet the requirements set by the Organization.
After picking up the bib at the place indicated by the organization, the T-shirt will be collected in strict order of arrival, until the size is in stock, in which case the next available size will be delivered. Once the size has been chosen, no changes can be made. The organization cannot guarantee the size because the order and manufacture of t-shirts is made prior to the closing of registrations. Failure to withdraw the runner’s bib and bag under the established terms means the waiver of the same.
Article 11 – Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of the race for reasons beyond the control of the organization, the organization reserves the right to invalidate articles 7 and 9 of the regulations, adopting the measures it deems appropriate.
Article 12 – Bib
The bibs must be clearly visible on the front of the trunk throughout the race. The bib number may not be folded or manipulated and must be placed at the top of the trunk and in a visible place.
Article 13 – Chip
The organization will provide a single-use chip to each participant that is placed in the participant’s shoe and that must be returned at the end of the race (you cannot participate with the yellow chip). If you are going to pick up your bib, but you are not going to participate in the test, remember to leave your chip in the enabled areas. If for any reason you cannot return it on the day of the race, you can send it by post to: RPM Racing, Av. Diagonal 477, planta 9, 08036 Barcelona.
Failure to return the chip implies a penalty of €5
Article 14 – Judges Committee
The race is controlled by the RFEA Judges’ Committee.
There will be time controls along the route. Only those participants who perform the race with the chip provided by the organization, placed in the shoe, will appear in the classification. Neither the organization, nor the sponsors, nor the main collaborator will assume any responsibility in the event of a malfunction of the chip.
Safety on public roads will be the responsibility of the Barcelona City Police.
Article 15 – Medical Services and Aid Stations
The medical services will be located along the route, as well as in the start and finish area.
There will be liquid refreshment stations at kilometres 5, 10, 15, 17, 5 approximately, as well as a liquid and solid final at the finish line. All registered runners are obliged to fill in the back of the bib with the details of name, surname, telephone number in case of emergency, if they have any medical problem (allergy, special attention, etc.) or are under any specific treatment, as well as their blood group.
Medical services will be authorized to remove any participant for medical reasons.
Article 16 – Course
Throughout the route, all the kilometers will be signposted according to World Athletics. The organization may modify the route, due to external causes and/or force majeure. Compliance with the approved circuit is subject at all times to the approved remodelling on public roads, which may cause small last-minute changes, inevitable on the day of the race, but which will not affect the official distance.
Article 17 – Liability Waiver and Data Protection
Participants explicitly allow their name, surname, gender and year of birth to be published on the website, as well as on the results page, if they finish the race following the established regulations.
This event belongs to the Official Calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, so once registered, the basic data of the runner will be transferred to this entity for the processing, before the insurance company, of the compulsory accident and Civil Liability insurance, as well as for the management of the day license and popular ranking of road races. Likewise, the data will be transferred to the main collaborator, for the correct collaboration of the latter with the organizer. In any case and as established by the Data Protection Law, the interested party may exercise in the future their rights of access, rectification, deletion, opposition, limitation and portability by writing or email to the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. All participants, by registering, declare that they are aware of and accept these Regulations and the Disclaimer and Data Protection Specifications. In case of doubt, the judgment of the Organization shall prevail. Specifically, with their registration, the runners sign the following declaration:
“I participate in the race completely voluntarily and I consciously assume the hardness of it, taking into account its distance and technical difficulty, for which I declare to have sufficient technical knowledge, experience and state of physical and psychological condition to face the characteristics of the test.
I declare that I am in optimal health to participate in the Mitja Marató Barcelona, having the total certainty of being physically and psychologically fit for it and having passed the relevant medical controls positively, ruling out any disease, pathology, injury, or any other health problem that advises against my participation. In the event that at the time of holding the race there has been any change in my state of health that poses a risk to me or to the health of the other participants, I agree not to participate in it.
I also accept that I must comply with the requirements that the organization imposes in relation to health limitations.
During the development of the competition I will contribute as much as possible to the Organization, to avoid personal accidents and I will maintain an appropriate behavior, not endangering my health, or that of other people. I agree to comply with the regulations set out in the REGULATIONS OF THE MITJA MARATÓ BARCELONA, safety protocols and indications established by the Organization.
Taking into account all of the above, I exempt the Organization, collaborating sponsors and/or other participating institutions from all liability for any accident, health problem or injury that I may suffer before, during and/or after the sporting event, waiving from now on any legal action against any of these entities.
I also authorize the Organization to make advertising use of photos, videos and any other type of audiovisual material in which I may appear, accepting the publication of my name in the classification of the event, in the media and/or Internet, without expecting payment, compensation or retribution of any kind for this concept”.
NOTICE: The organization recommends that runners undergo a medical examination prior to the race, all participants accepting the risk derived from the sporting activity.
Article 18 – Insurance Policy
The organization has a civil liability insurance policy according to current legislation. All participants are covered by an accident insurance policy in accordance with Royal Decree 849/1993, of 4 June, which determines the minimum benefits of the Compulsory Sports Insurance.

Article 19 – Categories
The men’s and women’s categories of the Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks are governed by the rules of World Athletics and the RFEA, and are established as follows:
- U-23: 18-23 years old.
- Senior: 23-34 years old.
- Master 35: 35-39 years old.
- Master 40: 40-44 years old.
- Master 45: 45-49 years old.
- Master 50: 50-54 years old.
- Master 55: 55-59 years old.
- Master 60: 60-64 years.
- Master 65: 65-69 years old.
- Master 70: 70-74 years old.
- Master 75: 75-79 years old
- Master 80: 80 years and older
Article 20 – Trophies
Trophies will be awarded to the first three classified men and women of the absolute general. Runners in the categories with disabilities, provided that there are a minimum of 3 participants in each category, will also receive their trophy on the same day of the race. To do this, they must go to the podium area at the end of the race. All trophies that are not collected on the day of the race will remain at the disposal of the Organization, it being understood that they are renounced.
Article 21 · Awards
Article 22 – Anti-Doping Control
As the event is included in the calendar of the RFEA and World Athletics, there will be the mandatory anti-doping control.
Any runner who, having been designated to pass said control, refuses to do so, will be automatically disqualified in all categories and prizes that may correspond to him. In this way, the athletes who pass this control and are entitled to the economic prize, must wait for the result of this to receive the prize.
Article 23 – Claims
Claims must be made orally to the Referee, no later than 30 minutes after the official communication of the results. The decision of the Referee is final.
Article 24
The fact of registering for the race implies acceptance of these regulations. The organization can decide on any incident that is not foreseen according to the long-distance race regulations of the Catalan Athletics Federation and the Spanish athletics federation.
