Article 1 – Notifications

Race day: Sunday, February 15, 2026. The start time is 8:30 a.m. Notifications: All communications to the runner will be made via the email address provided by the participant at the time of registration, or the email address later modified through the procedure enabled by the Organization for this purpose, should the participant decide to change it. Therefore, once the Organization has sent a communication, it is the runner’s responsibility to check their email in order to be informed. Likewise, athletes expressly agree to follow the instructions and restrictions imposed in accordance with the health authority of the event.

Article 2 – Regulations

The distance is 21.097 kilometers, entirely on urban roads. It is certified by the Catalan Athletics Federation (Federació Catalana d’Atletisme) through an IAAF-authorized measurer. Likewise, the half marathon is governed by the IAAF Road Racing Regulations and holds the World Athletics Gold Label. Judges from the RFEA and FCA will ensure compliance with the regulations. All persons who have a bib may participate, whether federated or not, provided they are 18 years of age or older on race day. Minors may not participate under any circumstances, not even in strollers or other assisted transport devices (roller skates, bicycles, skateboards, handbikes, etc.). The Organization reserves the right to close registrations once the maximum capacity of the race is reached in order to ensure the proper functioning of the event and provide participants with a quality experience and maximum safety.

Article 3 – Start

The race will start at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 12:15 p.m., with the official maximum time to finish being 2 hours 45 minutes from the moment the last participant crosses the start line. Under no circumstances may this time limit be exceeded. Runners who fail to comply will be removed from the race and from the official results. Visually impaired athletes may start from the wave corresponding to the time indicated in their registration. The existence of multiple starts does not affect the complete and accurate timing of all athletes, regardless of the wave they start in. The Organization reserves the right to add additional starts for safety, organizational and/or logistical reasons. In such cases, affected runners will be notified in sufficient time.

Article 4 – Times

The only data the Organization will take into account for rankings in any category are those provided by the runner in their registration form. The Organization reserves a Sub-Elite starting corral for participants who request it and can prove the following performances: 30:00 in 10 km, 1:05:00 in half marathon, or 2:20:00 in marathon in the last two years (men), and 35:30, 1:15:30 or 2:35:00 (same conditions for women), always achieved in officially certified World Athletics races on approved courses. No personal refreshment, appearance fee or expenses will be paid to sub-elite athletes. To apply, runners must send an email to info@mitjabarcelona.es attaching proof of their performance in an official race during the past year.

Article 5 – Starting Corrals

Each runner accepts the responsibility and commitment to start in the wave selected at the time of registration. Therefore, the starting corral chosen during registration will be the one assigned. Participants may change their starting corral until January 12, 2026, through the “Manage your Registration” section. The start is structured into corrals. Each corral is identified by a color, and only runners wearing the bib of the corresponding color will be allowed access.

Article 6 – Registration

**Prices** A total of 30,000 race bibs will be available. Prices will be: Bib numbers 1–1,000: €36 Bib numbers 1,001–10,000: €40 Bib numbers 10,001–30,000: €50 Registration is only valid once payment has been made. Registration will close when 30,000 runners are registered or on February 2, 2025. **Registration for athletes with disabilities** Two disability sport categories are established: visual disability and intellectual disability. Visually impaired athletes: must register online and will start in the corral chosen during registration. To be eligible for classification and awards, a copy of the disability certificate must be sent to promocioesportiva2@bcn.cat and info@mitjabarcelona.es after completing online registration. Guides will run without a chip and must be properly identified. They must register via info@mitjabarcelona.es, providing their personal data. Athletes with intellectual disabilities: must register online and will start in the corral chosen. To be eligible for classification and awards, a copy of the disability certificate must be sent to the same email addresses. *Awards in these categories will be given only if at least three athletes finish. Awards will be presented on race day. Runners must go to the podium area after finishing to confirm positions.*

Article 7 – Transfer of Entry

Participants may change the name or ownership of their bib/chip through the registration platform under “Manage your Registration”. If you cannot race, you may transfer your bib and entry to another runner. The new runner must comply with all the regulations and will receive an email with instructions to register. Once the new runner completes and pays their registration, the original runner will receive a refund of their original entry fee minus €14.95 as a transfer management fee. No transfers will be allowed after January 12. Unauthorized bib transfers are strictly forbidden and may result in disqualification, bans for up to four years, and notification to other race organizers.

Article 8 – Infractions and Disqualifications

Runners not properly registered, without an official bib, or with a false or transferred bib will not be allowed to participate. Any of the following will result in disqualification: providing false personal data, not completing the full course, being overtaken by the race closing vehicles, missing timing checkpoints, not wearing the bib properly, using another runner’s bib or chip, ignoring officials’ instructions, refusing a doping control, unsportsmanlike conduct, or any other violation of federation rules. Disqualified runners will not be eligible for prizes. The Organization reserves the right to take legal action against anyone who violates the rules.

Article 9 – Refund Guarantee

If you purchased the Refund Insurance when registering, you may request a 100% refund of the entry fee (excluding the insurance fee) until February 2, 2026, for any reason. Management fees are non-refundable. The refund guarantee can only be purchased at the time of registration.

Article 10 – Bib Pickup

Bibs and chips will only be distributed in person at the Expo Sports on the Friday and Saturday before the race. No bibs will be distributed on race day. A third party may collect the bib and race pack with authorization and a copy of the runner’s ID. After collecting the bib, the race shirt will be given on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Failure to collect the bib and race pack implies forfeiture.

Article 11 – Cancellation

If the race is cancelled for reasons beyond the Organization’s control, Articles 7 and 9 may be invalidated.

Article 12 – Bib

The bib must be worn visibly on the front of the torso throughout the race and must not be folded or altered.

Article 13 – Chip

Each participant will receive a disposable chip to be attached to the shoe and must return it after the race. Failure to return it will result in a €5 penalty.

Article 14 – Judges Committee

The race is controlled by the RFEA Judges Committee. Timing checkpoints will be set along the course. Only runners using the official chip will appear in the results. Public safety will be the responsibility of the Barcelona City Police.

Article 15 – Medical Services and Aid Stations

Medical services will be available along the course and at the start and finish. Fluid aid stations will be located around kilometers 5, 10, and 15, plus a final aid station at the finish. All runners must complete the emergency information on the back of their bib.

Article 16 – Course

Kilometers will be marked according to World Athletics standards. The Organization may modify the course due to force majeure or public works without affecting the official distance.

Article 17 – Liability Waiver and Data Protection

By registering, participants authorize the publication of their name, gender, and year of birth in results and accept all data protection and liability waiver terms.

Article 18 – Insurance Policy

All participants are covered by civil liability and accident insurance as required by Spanish law.

Article 19 – Categories

Age group categories follow World Athletics and RFEA rules: U23 (18–23), Senior (23–34), Master 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, and 80+.

Article 20 – Trophies

Trophies will be awarded to the top three men and women overall and to disability categories.

Article 22 – Anti-Doping Control

The race will include mandatory anti-doping controls in accordance with RFEA and World Athletics rules.

Article 23 – Claims

Claims must be made verbally to the Referee within 30 minutes of the official results.

Registering for the race implies acceptance of these rules and the regulations of the Catalan Athletics Federation and World Athletics.
