Barcelona International Sports Events (BISE) launches as a new platform bringing together the eight international sporting events with the greatest legacy, impact, and prominence in Barcelona and Catalonia
Zurich Marató de Barcelona and Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks are part of Barcelona International Sports Events (BISE), a new platform officially launched this Monday that brings together the eight international sporting events with the strongest legacy, local roots, and impact in Barcelona and Catalonia.
Alongside Zurich Marató de Barcelona and Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks, the initiative includes CSIO Barcelona, the Formula 1 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, the Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix, the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell–Trofeo Conde de Godó, the Conde de Godó Sailing Trophy, and the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. Together, these events form an alliance that further strengthens Barcelona and Catalonia’s position as one of the world’s leading sporting destinations.
The initiative has been created with the aim of establishing a permanent space for collaboration among event organizers, fostering knowledge sharing, generating synergies, and reinforcing the strategic contribution of major sporting events to the economic and social development, as well as the international projection, of Barcelona and Catalonia.
Representing both running events, Cristian Llorens, Assets Director at RPM Sports, took part in the official presentation of BISE and in a roundtable discussion focused on measuring the impact of major sporting events.
The inclusion of Zurich Marató de Barcelona and Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks in this new platform further strengthens the international standing of both races, which have become benchmarks on the global running calendar and two of the flagship sporting events of Barcelona and Catalonia.
