The Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona officially opens registrations for its 37th edition, set to take place on February 14th, 2027, further consolidating its position as the fastest and most festive half marathon in the world.

After reaching 36,000 participants in 2026, the organisation is setting a new challenge: reaching 40,000 runners in 2027, which would mark another historic milestone for the event. Barcelona will once again become a huge celebration defined by sporting excellence, record-breaking participation figures and a city fully committed to the event.

The best course with the best atmosphere

Thanks to an extremely fast course designed to deliver outstanding performances, thousands of runners choose Barcelona every year to chase their personal best in the ideal setting for high-level competition.

But the Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona is much more than just a race against the clock. With more than 25 entertainment points, live music, DJs and tens of thousands of spectators filling the streets, the event has become a true celebration, where every kilometre is experienced with intensity in a city that supports, pushes and transforms the race into a unique experience.

Barcelona’s Councillor for Sports, David Escudé, stated: “With 4,000 additional bib numbers available, the next edition of the Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks will surpass the iconic figure of 40,000 participants and write a hugely important chapter in the history of our race. Barcelona continues working not only to grow in numbers, but also to keep delivering one of the best running experiences in the world.”

Cristian Llorens, Director of Assets at RPM Sports, added: “The Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks has established itself as a unique race, where the experience perfectly combines elite-level sporting performance with an outstanding festive atmosphere. We believe this makes the event truly distinctive, with a very defined identity capable of attracting both runners looking for performance and those wanting to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the city of Barcelona.”

An experience that does not end at the finish line

After crossing the finish line, the experience continues with the , the official post-race celebration held at Poble Espanyol. It is a space where runners and supporters can enjoy live music, DJ sessions, food experiences and various activations, reinforcing the Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks as an event that is lived before, during and after race day.
